Little Socialite

It's been a busy weekend! Arabella's been quite social starting with a Halloween block party a few blocks from the house. She was a bit small for the moon bounce, but giggled and bounced away holding onto the outside, away from the flipping kids and with daddy spotting her. Her costume was something like china doll/geisha kid/karate princess as Christian and I had found a tiny Asian dress eons ago in New York.

Sunday was off to cousin Brook's birthday. What a treat! So many little ones and lots of toys to explore. Arabella seems ready for her future as a hockey goalie by the toys she found in the backyard--talented enough to fend off stray pucks with a golf club. Brook has an awesome backyard to run around in.

Lots of pics from the above and a few from around the house lately. Including a fantastic new sweater just in time for Halloween from Grandma Renee. We tried it on immediately and had a fashion show. Thank you!! There are also a few in there of snuggling with her favorite puppy from Grandma and Grandpa Britner -- so much love.

Solar Baby

We trekked down to the Mall on Saturday to check out the Solar Decathalon -- a contest among universities to design the best solar energy homes. Maryland suffered defeat to the Germans, though all were quite nice and those PV panels add nice bling to the home. A few pics for you from the afternoon romp. We also went north of the border, into PA that is, for an afternoon with the Thomas family and several friends. What fun! Thanks so much for hosting.

Wedding Pix are up!

On Saturday we had our wedding reception in the Promised Land and it was a perfect day! How did we luck out? A huge thank you to our parents for putting on a wonderful celebration!!

I don't have all the pictures from that together yet, but have posted the ones from our ceremony in Washington and our honeymoon in Peru.

Enjoy! We sure did.

I'm One!

Happy Birthday Arabella!
She turned one with two great celebrations of family and friends in DC and MN, thank you all for coming. She didn't make it all the way through her cake, but definitely liked the sweet frosting. I'd say the giant toy puppy to snuggle with from Grandma and Grandpa was her favorite gift of all. Now that she's walking and trying to run, her toy collection has become more mobile too. Lots of pics to share.

Hitched

Whew! We did it! Thanks to our families and friends, Christian and I got married on September 15 -- and now for a quick post on the matter.

We had fantastic weather and few cry babies to celebrate the big day. One of the coolest parts was that the day was also my Grandma Lois' 75th birthday. She and Grandpa made it to the celebration and we made sure to sing her happy birthday. The band, the Swingin Swammis, was a hit. The food from Gails Vegetarian was delicious. In all, there were no problems -- at least none that we could tell! Our friends and families came together to ensure we had a wonderful party and kept us away from any stress.

A few pictures here to enjoy of the celebration and of our wacky adventures in Peru.

We went on a motorcyle tour in the mountains for 5 days, including a trek to Machu Picchu where we found a lovely llama. The wandering animals and barking dogs definitely added some interesting moments to the motorcyle trek.

We also flew into the Amazon and went by boat to a groovy jungle lodge for a week. Lots of wacky animals, bugs, plants, etc. and the mosquitos weren't too bad!

Alas we landed back in Lima to meet up with a B School friend, Eduardo, before coming back to reality and Miss Arabella, who we missed like crazy!

Thank you to everyone who made our day the celebration we'll always cherish. We're truly fortunate to have the friends and families we do!!!

I'll post up more pictures in the online library soon -- I hope. There are silly hundreds of images between the wedding and honeymoon.
